I just updated my laptop with windows 7...

Median with plugy and multires, has slowed my game down there is so much lag now it sucks to play...i even tried getting rid of multires didnt help.

Before i had no issues with xp....any ideas people,could use some help

Windows 7 uses more ram than xp. Maybe your computer is not good enough for it.

did just buy 2 gigs of ram to add think this will help with performance?

Just go back to xp.

Nah, just joking, it should run fine on w7, so far it seems it's a LOT better than crapvista, i'm going to upgrade soon too. Also mxl uses no more than 100-120MB of ram.
Try running in previous systems compatible mode, unless you already did that (i haven't actually try that system so i don't know wheter it's necessary to do this after all).
