OK, I have tried the search facility and can't seem to find the info i need.

I want to upgrade my operating system, i'm currently using XP, and i want to try out Win7, but this will involve a new install, so i need to save all my characters if possible. Can this be done? If so how?

BTW, does anyone know if M08 will run on Win7?

Thanks in advance.

Back them up on to a CD or to a USB or some other form of external storage. Another option is just to upload them on to a website and then download them again after the installation.

Your save files should be located in the "Save" subfolder in the Diablo II folder.

If you get Vanilla D2 to run on Windows7, Median will work, too.

Running Windows7 on a Notebook and i had less problems than with Vista.

No problems during installation - selected compability Mode (WinXP SP3) and it worked.
